The ingredients needed to make Smothered Mushroom Meat:
  1. Take 2 pounds meat (give or take)
  2. Make ready 1 package dry gravy
  3. Prepare 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  4. Take 1/2 can broth or water
  5. Get 1 medium onion
  6. Make ready 3 cloves garlic or garlic powder
  7. Prepare 8 ounces Mushrooms (give or take)
  8. Take 1 black pepper to taste
  9. Prepare 1 hot sauce (optional)

Instructions to make Smothered Mushroom Meat:
  1. I like cheaper cuts off meat, with some fat for this dish. Using pork steaks today.
  2. I like to spray my slow cooker surface. Then put your meat in.
  3. Clean and chop you onion, usually in "sticks". Put on top of the meat.
  4. Clean a couple/few cloves of garlic, chop and add to slow cooker. You may use garlic powder if you want.
  5. This is the dried gravy mix I'm using today
  6. Just put it on top in the slow cooker
  7. Now mushrooms are not typically in a smothered dish, but we like them. Chop them up and add on top.
  8. Add your soup to a small bowl.
  9. Add half a can of broth or water
  10. Now is the time to add black pepper and hot sauce if using
  11. Mix this up well
  12. Pour it on top
  13. Cover and cook on low 8 hours, high for 4 hours
  14. Half way through the cooking process, I like to give it a little stir, and make sure there is enough liquid. If you think it is too dry, add some water/broth. Usually it is fine.
  15. After 8 hours on low
  16. The meat just falls apart. I wanted to serve it on noodles tonight, the wife, rice.
